I was the wedding photographer for Mary & Gareth at the Millfields Hotel in Grimsby and was my first time shooting a wedding there.
The day started with me meeting up with Mary, her sister and her friend in the room right at the top of the hotel – with a large camera bag it certainly gave my work out for the day! I spent a good bit of time with them taking in the atmosphere of the preparations, before heading back downstairs to the ground floor of Millfields Hotel to meet up with Gareth and his best man – his brother, in the bar.
Once all the guests had been ushered into the ceremony room, it was time for me to get to the front and wait for Mary. I particularly enjoy civil ceremonies because I always get to stand at the front and for me this is one of the best moments to capture – the anticipation and elation of the groom’s face as the bride arrives up the aisle.
It was straight outside for the group shots, and I had a bit of time to get some nice portraits of the happy couple before making my way back inside ready for the speeches.
After everyone had been fed and watered, I took some photos of the guests mingling and enjoying themselves before I set up for the first dance.
A lovely day at the Millfields Hotel in Grimsby. Congratulations to the both of you!
