Emma and Darren got married at a lovely little church in North Hykeham and had their reception at Charlotte House in Lincoln. I’ve been a Charlotte House wedding photographer before, so was pleased to be back there for this gorgeous wedding in Lincoln. It is a well run and well equipped wedding venue in Lincoln with a gorgeous glass fronted ceremony/reception room. The hotel itself is situated right next to a small tree lined park, which is an ideal area for wedding photos in Lincoln.
Anyway, about the day! It started at Emma and Darren’s house for the bridal preparations, where I was greeted by a house FULL of women, who all seemed in great spirits.
I arrived at the church to catch up with Darren and his two brothers (the best men) for a few photos, before they were ushered inside to await the arrival of Emma. Emma got out of the car and was greeted by their very excited, young daughter and I managed to capture this lovely moment, as you can see below. The ceremony itself was great and the very friendly vicar was accommodating to my requests, which is always good.
After the ceremony, all the guests went off to Charlotte House for the drinks reception. I photographed the group shots in the park next to the hotel, and then took Emma and Darren off for a quick walk around the grounds for some intimate portraits. Another thing that makes Charlotte House a special Lincoln wedding venue, is that it is directly opposite the castle grounds. We managed to quickly nip in before they closed the gates, to capture some gorgeous weddings photos in the Lincoln Castle grounds.
The reception room at the hotel had been decorated beautifully for the wedding breakfast and speeches, which were very enjoyable, as was the food thank you!
I stayed until after the bride and groom had cut the cake, danced their first dance, and the guests were partying the night away. Congratulations Emma and James it was a cracking day!
