Kenwick Park Hotel
Abi and Gav had a wonderful wedding back in June last year. The couple chose Kenwick Park Hotel – superb wedding venue in Louth to celebrate their marriage. Being a recommended supplier for the hotel, means I have photographed many weddings there and know the grounds (all the secret spots) and the staff really well. What better way to spend a Saturday than to work with fantastic couples in such a brilliant wedding venue?
Bridal Prep
The day began with me photographing Abi whilst she got ready with her mum and the bridesmaids in the bridal suite of the Hotel. Photographing the bridal preparations is not all about capturing the bride having her hair and make up done, it’s also about capturing the details, such as the dress, the shoes, the flowers and of course the atmosphere and emotions.
During bridal prep I always find time to escape and catch up with the boys, whether outside the church or on the venue grounds.
The Ceremony
Luckily the weather was playing ball which meant the ceremony could be held in the purpose built gazebo. Located in the grounds of Kenwick Park Hotel it was the perfect setting for Abi and Gav to say their wedding vows and tie the knot.
Once the ceremony had finished, it was time for the brief group shots and then for the guests to enjoy the reception party. I spent this time mingling around photographing the guests candidly whilst they enjoyed their drinks and canapés.
The Speeches
Once the guests had finished their delicious wedding breakfast, it was time for the speeches where, as always, I like to move around the room capturing as many angles, and emotions, as I possibly can and there were certainly plenty of those!
Bride and Groom Wedding Portraits
After the ceremony, it was time for bride and group wedding portraits. My style of wedding photography is relaxed and unobtrusive for the main part of the day, but I always allow a bit of time for the more formal shots. Abi and Gav were brilliant in front on the camera, as these fun photographs show.
Evening Reception
After the evening guests had arrived, it was time for the cake cutting and the first dance, which allowed the DJ to kick off the partying. Weddings like Abi and Gav’s make my job as a wedding photographer a pleasure and I’m so glad they invited me along to capture their special day.
