Amy and Gary got married twice! Well not really, but sort of. They had their official marriage ceremony at The Charlotte House Hotel in Lincoln, and then, they had a lovely little blessing in the Old Bishop’s Palace, also in Lincoln. You can’t officially get married in the palace, hence the two ceremonies. The Charlotte House Hotel is a fantastic wedding venue in Lincoln and an ideal place for some Lincoln wedding photography. And the old palace, well you would never know it existed without being told about it and is a lovely little tranquil place for a wedding blessing.
I met up with Amy, her bridesmaid and her mum, to catch the final bridal preparations in one of the rooms at the hotel, where the champagne was already flowing nicely. Amy had a beautiful dress with beading detail that I had not seen before and I bet it weight a tonne! I managed to hang around in time to catch Amy’s dad’s face when he saw her for the first time – these always make wonderful wedding photography moments.
Then I met up with Gary and the boys outside in the grounds for a few shots of them together before the ceremony started.
The ceremony itself was a lovely affair with even a few tears from the groom himself – you know you’ve got a couple who are meant to be together when the groom cannot contain his happiness.
After that, the entire wedding party managed to get to the Palace for the blessing – which again was lovely. I managed to get some gorgeous bride and groom shots around the grounds too. Then it was back to Charlotte House Hotel for the group shots, speeches, dinner and PARTY!
I stayed until the dancing and I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Lincoln wedding photographer at Charlotte House.
Congratulations Amy and Gary you make a lovely couple! As always, please do leave a comment below – I would love to hear your thoughts!
