Emma & Phil's Lincolnshire wedding in a Tipi

When Emma and Phil contacted me all that time ago about their wedding I was especially keen to be their Lincolnshire wedding photographer as I had never shot a tipi wedding before and was really looking forward to it!

The day started at with the bridal preparations at Emma’s parent’s house in the lovely village of Spridlington – I was welcomed by a house FULL of people and their dog who didn’t known what on earth was going on!  Emma’s mum was also the minister for the ceremony at the church so I had the advantage of getting to know her a little beforehand.  I even got fed a bacon buttie for breakfast – they know how to keep their photographer happy!

From there it was the extremely short car ride to the church to meet up with Phil and his two best men.  The church was a walkable distance which is what Emma decided to do.  The church was gorgeous and so was the ceremony – it was a lovely touch that Emma’s own mum could marry the happy couple.

It was then onto the tipi for the reception.  This was an even shorter walk and a friendly neighbour had given them use of their field at the back of their house to set up their tipi wedding!  The tipi had been set out beautifully with wooden carved table names, a gorgeous buffet and an amazing cake.

The weather played ball for most of the day, with a bit of rainfall.  When it was sunny, they decided to have the speeches outside – again, a nice change from the norm.

They ate, they drank, they danced, they laughed – it was a fantastic day.  Congratulations Emma and Phil – you make a lovely couple.
