My jaunt as a Germany wedding photographer was my second ever outing as a destination wedding photographer and I was very excited to get stuck in, as my wedding in France the year before was incredible!
The Venue
Ele & Dom celebrated their wedding at Weingut Fitz-Ritter – a vineyard situated outside Bad Durkheim in Germany. It was an absolute privilege and pleasure to photograph a wedding at this beautiful venue and country! Everyone was so friendly and the sun shone and it was warm and light for hours into the evening.
Being a destination wedding photographer is such a rewarding job, because I get to work with wonderful couples in fantastic faraway locations such as this.
Bridal Preparations
My big day as a Germany wedding photographer started by photographing Ele having her hair done and makeup applied in one of the rooms of the hotel, situated on the grounds of the vineyard, whilst the anticipation built and the atmosphere started buzzing with excitement. The whole day had been arranged so that everything took place within in the vineyard, the bridal prep, the ceremony, the meal and the evening reception all within the grounds of the venue.
A German Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony took place under a canopy within the middle of the rows and rows of grape vines, allowing friends and family to enjoy the ceremony in peace and privacy – a Germany wedding photographer’s dream!
The Portraits
Drinks, Dinner and Dancing
Photographing the drinks reception outdoors was great as I was able to capture so many natural moments and Ele and Dom spent time mingling with their guests outside in the beautiful sunshine before I took them away to take beautiful portraits of the bride and groom as we walked round the grounds of the vineyard.
The wedding meal was delicious al fresco buffet/barbecue – the perfect food for this setting. And cakes! I’ve never seen so many cakes!
After the food, everyone gathered inside to enjoy the heartwarming and funny speeches where I got to capture great reactions from the guests.
The couple had hired a brass band who play a mixture of traditional jazz and classical music, mixed with their own takes on modern pop songs – they went down a storm!
Ele and Dom created a fantastic day and I hope they have a happy life together.
