Saturday saw me at the beautiful village of Bassingham near Lincoln as the Lincolnshire wedding photographer for Gemma and Alex. It was great meeting up with them again, as last time we met up for the pre-wedding shoot, they were very welcoming to my family and invited us in for a cup of tea once the shoot had finished!
The day started with the bridal preparations at Gemma & Alex’s house, which was quite enjoyable watching everyone get ready and especially watching her mum burn her fingers off making the most amazing Croquembouche – which you can see below.
Whilst the girls were still getting ready I had a quick 20 minutes in the pub across the road with the boys. From there, it was onto the church.
Unfortunately the weather really wasn’t playing ball for us today and just would not stop raining. This meant I had to resort to plan b – shooting the formal group shots from inside the church, which turned out well in the end.
From the church it was onto the reception venue – the local village hall, which they had decked out beautifully! Being the great sports that Gemma and Alex are, I managed to persuade them to stand outside in the rain for a few quick shots and, I’m sure you’ll agree, the results were completely worth it.
Congratulations to a genuinely lovely couple amd all the best for the future!
