Rebecca & Dan got married at the fantastic Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa earlier in March and was the first wedding of my 2014 season. And what can I say? It was brilliant! I couldn’t ask for a better wedding to start my year off with. Rebecca just smiled ALL day and was lovely to see, her father tried to fight away the tears for most of the day, and Dan, well he just looked as proud as punch to be marrying his beautiful bride.
The day started off, as usual, with the bridal preparations which were in the Honeymoon Suite of the hotel where I got to enjoy the buzz and excitement of the proceedings and capture Bec’s beautiful dress before she put it on. Whilst they were getting changed, I managed to catch up with Dan, his best man and the ushers who were getting ready at the other end of the hotel. It was most amusing watching a bunch of grown men trying to work out button holes!
Then it was onto the main event and Rebecca just smiled from walking down the aisle to right after walking out again and I managed to capture her doing just that below.
The group shots were held on one of the huge lawns outside the hotel, and after which, I had some time alone with the couple to produce some beautiful portraiture of the two of them around the grounds.
The speeches were before the meal today and I must say, one of the best father-of-the-bride speeches I’ve ever heard – well done! After the cheering and laughing and crying, it was time for the meal. I stayed right through until after the first dance.
