Earlier in April I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Kerry & Alan at the Oaklands Hall Hotel. The Oaklands Hotel is a lovely wedding venue set back from the A18 near Laceby in Lincolnshire.
The day started off with a visit to Kerry’s mum’s house which was FULL of people. I’ve never seen a house so full – but this just added to the buzz and the atmosphere , and helped distract the very nervous Kerry.
From there it was onto the Oaklands Hotel to catch up with Alan and his best man – they were still getting ready in one of the rooms in the hotel. I was about to bring them downstairs for a few wuick photos when Kerry turned up unexpectedly early! This caught me by surprise but the wedding co-ordinator handled it well and ushered her and her bridesmaids into a spare room at the other end of the hotel.
The ceremony room had been beautifully decorated in shades of pink – to match the bridesmaids dresses and the men’s ties, and Kerry looked beautiful and full of smiles as she walked up the aisle to meet her husband to be.
After the ceremony it was outside for the group and family shots which, was unusually cold for April – so I had to be as efficient as possible. Wedding photography at Oaklands Hotel is great because there is plenty of room inside for smaller more intimate group shots and portraits if the weather doesn’t play ball.
I got treated to a delicious three course meal whilst the guests ate theirs and then it was back outside (in the rain unfortunately) for the bride and groom portraits. I must say though that the couple were jolly good sports and let me get them a bit wet.
I stayed until after the first dance – a brilliant day. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Moore!

That’s really shrewd! Good to see the logic set out so well.
