My First Jaunt as a Norfolk Wedding Photographer
I loved photographing Sally and Mike’s wedding at The Hoste in Norfolk. It was the first time I had worked at The Hoste and photographing a wedding there was very special and I can’t wait to go back. It is a beautiful pub and hotel, offset from the road in the pretty village of Burnham Market. This was also my first time as a Norfolk wedding photographer, it’s a beautiful county and hope to work there again.
I couldn’t have asked for better opportunities than photographing fantastic couples like Sally and Mike and working at gorgeous venues like The Hoste.
Sally got ready in the bridal suite of The Hoste on the morning of the wedding. Bridal Prep gives me an opportunity to get to know the bridal party a bit more and gives lots of opportunity for storytelling as Sally was having her hair and makeup finished.
Sally and Mike exchanged rings and said their vows in a fantastic ceremony in the dedicated licensed wedding room at The Hoste, where there were tears and huge smiles in abundance.
After the ceremony, I spent a bit of time photographing the formal group shots. I don’t like to spend too long on these but I do appreciate they are an important part of the day. It gives the chance for the guests to enjoy the wedding as much as possible and gives me more time with the couple! For every wedding I shoot, I make sure I have quality time with the bride and groom to capture intimate and natural portraits of the happy couple.
During the wedding reception, it was great to capture the guests enjoying themselves as drinks kept coming. It’s times like this I can search for moments that would help to tell the story of the day. Everyone love a good Autumn wedding, and I’m no exception. It was also a sunny day, which was a blessing, and meant the guests could enjoy the grounds.
It was then time for the guests to be seated to enjoy the speeches before they tucked into their delicious wedding breakfast. It wasn’t a full day wedding for me, so I only stayed until the end of the speeches.
I met up with the couple again when they had a wedding party in a local pub – The Brown Cow, in Louth, to capture the evening celebrations.
You couldn’t wish for a more perfect day for Sally and Mike and I just know they will build a fantastic life together.
