Kathryn & Richard had their ceremony at St Mary’s church in Bolsterstone and had their reception at the stunning Wortley Hall – an impressive wedding venue in Sheffield and one I’d never had the pleasure of working at before. This grand stately home in South Yorkshire was a fantastic venue for their wedding reception and as you will see from the images below, provided a stunning backdrop for their wedding photographs.
I went to school with Rich and it was a nice surprise to be asked to photograph his wedding at Wortley Hall. It was great to catch up with him and meet his wife to be Kathryn, on their engagement shoot in Louth.
I started the day as always, with bridal preparations at Kat’s parents house and I got fed and watered – they know how to keep a wedding photographer happy! I managed to capture some lovely images of the atmosphere and the children before heading off to the church, or more precisely, the pub, to catch up with Rich and his best man, my good friend Matty.
The ceremony was a happy affair with lots of smiles and once it was over everyone headed off to Wortley Hall.
To say that there were so many opportunities for beautiful photographs at this stunning Sheffield wedding venue was an understatement! I could have photographed the happy couple there all afternoon but of course, I was conscious of them wanting to talk to their awesome guests. It was great for me too because so many old friends were at this wedding at it was good to catch up.
I got to sit with friends on a table and enjoy the delicous food before photographing the lovely speeches. The day was completely by the first dance and they had one of those “group hug” dances with the bridesmaids – brilliant stuff!
All in all a cracking day and I would loved to have stayed long into the night but I had to get back home! I hope to photograph many more Wortley Hall weddings in the future. Congratulations Kat & Rich I wish you many years of happiness!
